What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?

We are immediatly placed in a crime scene. This is seen through police officers, guns, and dark clothing shown. The sequence utitlizes the building, walls, pipes, and cars (generally small snapshots of LA) to place their titles.

How does the opening sequence capture the mood of a thriller?

The vibes are set by color tone. The city is black and white, while the sky is red, this contrast gives a unsettling and bloody feeling. For every title, the camera pans slowly, while the police officers/ people remained frozen in time. In the beginning, there is a slow risinng noise of police cars, helicopter wings, and a slow high note that creates tension. The violin plays a slow tune and the piano is ominious. This creates a perfect thriller.
