Even after the making of this video I went through changes and sudden shift of thinking, but even then I still think I did good. It's so sad to see these windows close. Goodbye, and thank you for a interesting year.

Good to see my hard work pay off. Though I am feeling sad that this will be my FINAL  project in this class. Till' next time.

Production Bog: Re-done The Final

Cheers to the final blog before the finale. Here, I will cover the last few changes I made. Beforehand, when I did the voice-over, I cringed using my own voice. Instead, I played with the voice effects. There were no other good options so I used the deep voice. It turned my voice to feminine to this mechanical-sounding thing. OF course, I was inspired by "SCREAM", but I couldn't get it to replicate the original. In turn, I was left with this sci-fi voice that just didn't fit. It didn't help that I voiced my lines unnaturally. The critic told me to instead, use my natural voice and just wing the lines on the spot. Their argument was that if this voice was a reflection of the character, then shouldn't it be the character's voice? Yes, this hurt my feelings, but I understood where he was coming from. I sounded like a 17th-century android.  Following the advice, I took off the voice effect and ignored the script. I said what I felt like needing to say in th

One of the critics I was given was my text. The previous font was "too thin" for the story. The first I didn't get that, what exactly did "too thin" even mean. In my hesitance, I disagreed, but after watching the opening multiple times I started to understand what they were saying. I guess when you rewatch the same clip for over 5 hours, everything starts to look the same. So instead, I chose "Typer" as my font instead of "Honest". After doing so, I can admit that the whole thing looks better. The next advice was to add sound effects and cut off the background noise. I didn't really know how to do that, luckily the student showed me. They clicked on the "reduce noise" option on Cap Cut and suddenly you couldn't hear my extremely loud AC in the background. Honestly, I was hoping it would've blended into the background, but I guess not. With this reduced noise I can hear myself clearer and adding sound effects wouldn'

Production Blog: Review

Image
Here comes the worst part of any person's life... Peer review! yes, the cursed revision of any student or worker who wants criticism of their work. Every time my teacher even hints at reviewing my peer's work my inside quiver in laziness. If not laziness, anxiety to have some intelligent bafoon give genuine feedback to my work. As you can tell, I don't like the idea of someone seeing the physical embodiment of my vision. Yet, necessary evils need to occur for me to do well in life. I showed my mother my work. Since she had to hold the camera in some of the scenes, it seemed fair to give her a draft of the final. Being a Gen X, she wasn't very hard to impress. Heck, if I put an explosion to end every scene, she would've clapped. She found everything impressive, but while very nice to my ego, did not soothe my anxiety of the actual quality of my work. So I moved on to a fresher set of eyes. I debated between showing my sister or a student. If I chose my sister, she mi

Production Blog: Editing

^ This is what my iPhone and I felt like editing in the middle of the night. Since I've gotten the major parts of editing down, it was time to go into finer detail. The first step was putting in the text. Since I had the honor of self-producing, I can officially claim to be an indie producer. Indie, is short for independent. Plus signing everything with my name. For every scene, I gladly plastered my name in bold red text. My insides smiled in pride and joy knowing that little ol' me did something like this.  Onwards. Sometimes I wanted to put the test in negative space, but sometimes it fell on my face. This irritated me until I had the bright idea to incorporate some of those titles into the scene. Like, making it part of the scene instead of it lying on the screen if that makes sense. I mean there was only so much Cap Cut can handle and offer without a premium. Despite these faults, I tried to make it work. For most of the transitions of these titles, I tried several trans

Production Blog: Editing

^ I promise my editing is not that intricate.   This blog will be pretty straight to the point. I didn't make a lot of significant progress with my editing just yet. Nonetheless, here is what I did so far. First, I of course logged into Capcut to make a new project. Annoyingly, my phone was overloaded in storage, so before I could get further into editing, I had to clear my phone. Either it was me, or the fact that iPhones profit off of extra storage, it was a long process.  I put the scenes in sequential order. I started from the outside shot to the backyard scene. The scenes where it rapidly switched from me speaking to my inner voice were difficult to put in proper order. I kept getting the order confused and overthinking it. After looking back at my storyboard, I decided to go with the flow. After all, I could fix it later. If I woke up late in the middle of the night to realize my mistake, only I would really know. Don't be like me. After putting the shots and scenes where
